RESIDENCE - BALMORAL

This new residence is a response to a steeply sloping site with magnificent views over Sydney Harbour. A glass box was embedded in solid cubic forms to create an expansive outlook with a sense of enclosure.

The transparency and angles of the house opens up the view from the backyard through the house to the water beyond. There are a series of generous outdoor rooms for recreation. An adjustable pergola protects the upper deck by limiting the summer sun and welcoming the low winter sun. The split-level the four-bedroom house is a collage of sandstone, render, glass and steel.
