Gerroa House

The Gerroa house evokes the historic aspect of the area by recalling the Australian 'beach house' in its design, yet has a very modern and flexibile feel. In this design we expressed the different levels of the site by recalling these with level change and platforms within the house.

The house lies on the headland at Gerroa, south of Sydney and boasts panoramic views to the sea. By creating different viewing platforms these views can be experienced in different ways. So as to allow for greater winter solar acess from the north we floated the roof and to protect the house from exposure protected open spaces are provided.
